Alpha 4.10.3 is now open to every backer on the Public Test Universe (PTU). CIG moved the patch to All Waves on October 30, 2026 with build 4.10.3-PTU.13055118, after a week of Wave 1 testing. If you own a game package you can install the PTU client and try the Vanduul Incursion contracts in Nyx before they reach the live servers.
The build is mostly a bug-fix pass, but one change stands out: the new LBCO Skarnov rifle has been reworked from the ground up, with triple the energy damage per shot, twice the chain range, less weight and, for the first time, a firing sound. Testing focus is still stability, bug fixes and long term persistence between PTU releases. There is no live date yet.
What All Waves means
The PTU opens in stages. Evocati testers go first, then Wave 1 (the most active bug reporters), then wider waves, and finally All Waves, which is everyone with a Star Citizen game package. Reaching All Waves is usually the last stage before a patch goes to LIVE, though CIG has not said when 4.10.3 will make that step.
The 13055118 build runs on the PTU channel with US servers only, and long term persistence is enabled, so your PTU progress carries from one PTU build to the next. You install the PTU through the RSI Launcher by switching the environment from LIVE to PTU; it is a separate download and a separate copy of your account.
Vanduul Incursion fixes and an AI pass
The Intersec Defence Solutions contract line that 4.10.3 introduced has had its first round of fixes based on Wave 1 feedback. The biggest ones are that quantum travel to Shattered Blade Raid locations now works, and that contracts now award their blueprint rewards when you complete them, which was the point of running the harder tiers in the first place.
CIG also did an AI pass across the incursion locations. Each site now has three distinct attack layers and bespoke corridor routing meant to spread defenders out, and the loot drops were reworked. Contract missions in general received a further economy balance pass; the notes do not give figures.
- Vanduul NPCs now load their armor instead of appearing unclothed
- Vanduul can no longer be stunned or pulled with a tractor beam
- Mauler health reduced to offset its earlier weapon damage increase
- Only one blue Vanduul cryopod spawns per location
- The space combat music from Welcome To Nyx now plays when fighting Vanduul
- Eliminate Specific contract text revised, and the Neutralize Boss objective renamed to Neutralize Target
LBCO Skarnov rifle rework
The Skarnov is the fully automatic energy rifle from Lightning Bolt Co. that debuted in the Wave 1 build. Its numbers have changed enough that any impressions from the first week no longer apply. Energy damage per shot goes from 10 to 30, and the electron chain that jumps between nearby targets now reaches 7.5 metres instead of 3.8.
CIG also found that the damage falloff floor was broken: the minimum damage at range had been set to 30 while the base damage was only 10, so the rifle hit harder at distance than up close. The floor is now 20 against a base of 30, and redundant distortion and stun floors were removed. Two other oversights are fixed too. All ten of the rifle’s weapon report audio triggers were empty strings, so it fired silently in every environment, and the barrel port only accepted ballistic barrels rather than energy ones.
- Rifle mass cut from 4.9 to 2.9, magazine mass from 1.12 to 1.05, which changes handling
- Slight recoil reduction on the rapid fire mode
- Firing audio now plays indoors and outdoors
- Energy barrel attachments now fit
Potential fixes for new players and shops
CIG lists several items as potential fixes, meaning the team believes the cause is addressed but wants PTU confirmation. Two of them hit new players directly: the Collector intro contract sometimes never appeared in the contract manager, which blocked the whole Collector mission line, and Autoland could fail to complete the Land at LEO objective in Part 3 of the New Player Experience.
The rest cover everyday friction. A failed shop purchase that timed out could block every later purchase until you changed server, landing services in the mobiGlas could get stuck on Processing or Blocked, a Recover Cargo contract could leave a large pile of duplicate cargo in the freight elevator, and hostile AI ships in bounty and mercenary contracts sometimes stopped returning fire; they now cycle back to SCM mode once an interception completes. The 4.10.3 loading screen art was updated as well.
What this means for new players
Nothing in this build changes what to buy. If you are new and want to see the Vanduul contracts early, All Waves means you can, but the PTU is for testing: expect bugs, US servers only, and remember that your live account is untouched. The New Player Experience autoland fix is worth testing if you start a fresh PTU character, since that is the step that could strand new pilots. Otherwise there is no harm in waiting for 4.10.3 to reach LIVE. Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. Since October 30, 2026 the 4.10.3 PTU is open to All Waves, which means every backer with a game package. It runs on US servers only, as build 13055118.
No. As of November 2, 2026 it is still on the PTU. CIG has not given a date for the LIVE release.
Energy damage per shot rose from 10 to 30, the chain jump range from 3.8 m to 7.5 m, the rifle is lighter (2.9 mass instead of 4.9), rapid fire recoil is slightly lower, firing audio was added and energy barrels now fit.
All ten of its weapon report audio triggers were empty, so it produced no firing report anywhere. Build 13055118 fills them in.
The build lists a potential fix for the Collector intro contract not appearing in the contract manager. CIG wants PTU testers to confirm it works.
