Star Citizen’s next major patch, Alpha 4.11, has moved to the fourth quarter of 2026. CIG made the change in its Roadmap Roundup on September 9, saying the extra time lets the teams focus on Alpha 4.10.x point patches and on 4.11 itself to improve the live experience. In the same update it committed a new activity, Orison Relief Support, to an upcoming 4.10.x release.
For anyone who came in with Siege of Orison two weeks ago, the practical reading is that the current patch is the home for the next couple of months and it is going to grow. Below is what changed on the roadmap, what 4.11 is meant to carry, and what is running in the game this week, including Pirate Week 2026.
What changed on the roadmap
CIG pairs each roadmap update with a Roundup explaining the decisions. The September 9 edition lists four notable changes on the Release View.
- Alpha 4.11 has been adjusted to Q4 2026 to give the teams more time on Alpha 4.10.x and 4.11 and to further improve the live experience
- Orison Relief Support, a new card under Alpha 4.10, has been set to Committed and will release in an upcoming 4.10.x patch
- The Nyx III card received a new image
- The Lightning Bolt Company Skarnov assault rifle card received a new image
What Alpha 4.11 is meant to bring
According to the Star Citizen Wiki’s tracking of the roadmap, Alpha 4.11 is targeted to include the first rollout of the Genesis core technology and the first batch of planetary content for Nyx, in the form of Nyx I. Back in July, CIG’s Alpha 4.9 patch report also said the Starwear clothing feature was tracking for 4.11 in September; the new Roundup does not mention it, so treat that as unconfirmed until CIG says otherwise.
The slip fits the pattern of 2026 so far. Siege of Orison was pulled from 4.9 into 4.10 to harden instancing, and 4.10 itself ran late. Moving 4.11 out of the September window and putting effort into 4.10.x is the same call made earlier: ship fixes to the live game rather than stack another large feature on top of it.
What arrives in 4.10.x first
Orison Relief Support is the headline. CIG describes it as players contributing to Orison’s recovery through a variety of missions spanning resource gathering, crafting, hauling and combat. That is a direct follow-on from Siege of Orison, and notably it is built around the industrial loops rather than only the assault, so haulers, miners and crafters get a piece of the storyline.
The first point patch, Alpha 4.10.1, is also the one the September monthly store bundle is tied to, according to this week’s This Week in Star Citizen. Hotfixes to 4.10 continue in the meantime through the Hotfix Central thread.
Meanwhile: Pirate Week 2026
Pirate Week began on Wednesday, September 9. This year it centres on a treasure hunt: clues are scattered across Spectrum, the newsletters and CIG’s social channels while the Pirate Week flag flies, and solving enough of them earns a golden Pirate Week 2026 doubloon. A Most Wanted contest runs alongside it. The first riddle appeared in CIG’s Spectrum announcement, and the answer format is a code in the X-XXXX shape.
The event page also lists 25 featured ships on offer, from the Ursa rover at $50 and the Avenger Titan at $60 through the Cutlass Black, Gladius, Corsair and Vulture up to the A2 Hercules at $750, with special upgrade offers on the Ironclad Assault and the Shiv. There is no Free Fly attached to Pirate Week this year.
What this means for new players
The 4.11 delay changes nothing about starting now: Alpha 4.10 is the live game for the rest of the year and it will pick up Orison Relief Support and at least one point patch before 4.11 lands.
